#BBF Talk ""If it's always the same people coming to watch and support us, then we are in deep trouble" with SHAMAINE OTHMAN Writer, Comedian and Producer

During the recent MCO, there were many conversations whether arts was an essential need. And it is still ongoing.

Many artists and the Malaysian public butted heads about this.
“Arts from Hollywood or Korea is essential. But not local arts/entertainment” were just some of the sentiments being shared among Malaysians.

Many artists wrote notes about their disappointment on how Malaysians view the arts and whats to become when our theatre/movement spaces are no longer available to sustain after the MCO/RMCO/Post MCO all the Osss. Got us to thinking that maybe we haven’t been giving 'them' art/entertainment that they would care or fight for.

As artists/performance makers have we truly given them art that speaks to them? Are artists worth fighting for just because we aren't an 'essential'?

Come share your thoughts as I dive into this live session with Shamaine Othman!
